Here is an annual conference with a difference, a fast-paced day of insight and inspiration from an international array of art and design talent. It is curated and organised by It’s Nice That, a publishing platform that champions creativity online, in print and through a series of live events. Since the first symposium in 2012, Here has taken place in the splendid surroundings of The Royal Geographical Society in Kensington, west London.

Since the inaugural Here in 2012 we have welcomed Paul Smith, Erik Kessels, Adam Buxton, Marina Willer, Kate Moross, Christoph Niemann, Eike König, Annie Atkins, Ian Tait, Bob & Roberta Smith, Malika Favre, Gail Bichler and Nadav Kander among many others– you can watch videos from previous events on our archive page. Creative Direction
When Richard Turley left his position as creative director of Bloomberg Businessweek to join MTV as its first senior vice president of visual storytelling and deputy editorial director, the move was nothing short of sensational. From stalwart of the magazine renaissance to arbiter of digital DIY, or as he’s called it, “the clusterfuck of visual content.” Turley is a force.
Since moving to MTV in 2014, his strategy has been to ultimately open source the network. He has worked on reactive TV idents responding to current events and live social media conversations, ushered in a redesign incorporating user and artist generated work, and implemented an overall tone of anarchy. His presentation at this year’s Here was particularly effective at rabblerousing our audience.
